Just was curious how to do author signed from Amazon when CS would be shipping...which I probably can't in that case. It's a great option though...and I really appreciate your help/comments, and your patience with a "newbie". :-)Jamie D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05486427517423813962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6975142675316700735.post-61281654722574501422010-08-05T16:52:00.087-07:002010-08-05T16:52:00.087-07:00Jamie D,

That's where this thread comes in.

Cheers!

JohnJohn Betcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02205070735154519258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6975142675316700735.post-85795831983290883272010-08-05T16:17:08.808-07:002010-08-05T16:17:08.808-07:00Ah...I'm going through CreateSpace too - just ...Ah...I'm going through CreateSpace too - just assumed that they would handle the print and ship as books were ordered through their distributors (which includes Amazon, of course). Hence "print on demand" - I was sure that was how others I know have it set up. Good thing I asked, I'll check deeper into it. Thanks!Jamie D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05486427517423813962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6975142675316700735.post-57820815327037092882010-08-05T11:43:27.371-07:002010-08-05T11:43:27.371-07:00Hi Jamie D.

I can buy as many books as I want directly from them, whenever I want, at my "author price" and have them delivered to my home. Total cost depends on # of pages and book weight.
Maybe it costs me $4 to $6 per book to get them printed and shipped to my house.

If you use a short run printer instead of POD, you would have a bunch of your books at your house already. And you may be shipping ALL of your sales -- even Amazon ones -- yourself. That depends on whether you are willing to pay Amazon extra to do the shipping for you. In which case you would have to send them some inventory.

Make sense?

JohnJohn Betcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02205070735154519258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6975142675316700735.post-81903311904843024992010-08-05T10:43:43.939-07:002010-08-05T10:43:43.939-07:00So how does that work, if you don't mind my as...So how does that work, if you don't mind my asking? Does Amazon just send you the book to sign first, then forward to the buyer? Just curious... :-)Jamie D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05486427517423813962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6975142675316700735.post-6344528197382277762010-08-03T07:23:20.680-07:002010-08-03T07:23:20.680-07:00Thanks Tamara.
